A Year in Review: Second Grade Style

Tonight we got to to watch Mackenzie perform in the second grade program.

Kenzie has been so excited to show us everything she has learned this past year.

Kenzie HAD to make sure that she got a picture with her teacher, Mrs. Graham. Kenzie was also excited to tell us that Mrs. Graham is staying at "this" school. With the growth of our city, they have been building new schools like crazy, so there was a chance that Mrs. Graham was going to one of those, BUT she is not! (Mrs. Graham told us that 1500 teachers tried to get into the new school which there was only 50 spots opened...she is glad to just have a job, even though she will next year be teaching 5th grade.) Kenzie is already planning on going and seeing Mrs. Graham next year. We love Mrs. Graham, this is her second year of teaching and you can tell that she loves what she does and loves her students so much!

Teachers like her are far and few!So, the evening was full of friends, fun, and lots of songs and dance.

It was cute to watch. Things like this, take me back to when I was a kid and reminds me just how times flies.

I also saw a side of Kenzie that I don't see much; she must really enjoy school and feels comfortable there. She opens up with her friends and for a moment when I wanted to take her picture, she pretended not to hear me from where I was sitting...please, oh, please, let her not be embarrassed of her mom!

In one way, it was good to see that she is fitting right in, growing up, and learning so much.

On off to third grade for Kenzie next year, I can remember that third grade was my favorite of all AND that was also the grade that I started thinking boys were cute...what are we in for???

Even though school is out this upcoming Friday, and most kids would be excited to have Summer off, NOT Kenzie, She loves school and will miss it so much.
