Meet the Happy Couple:

I would like to introduce Brooke and Jess Bedke.
This past weekend, We were able to throw us all in the car and head up North to Oakley, Idaho to celebrate with the new happy couple. Brooke is my cousin and it was crazy to think that she is old enough to get married. She looked so beautiful and the girls loved her "pretty princess" dress.
Brooke and Jess actually got married in the Portland Temple on April 17, but we were unable to attend up in Oregon, so we were excited to hear that they were having a reception in Idaho.
Brooke and Jess met up at BYU-Idaho and fell in love while they were up there.
Jess is from Oakley, Idaho; a city that has 668 people in it. I think the whole town came to wish the happy couple love and well wishes.
I noticed all the same wrapped gifts and wondered where you shop in a town that size. I only really saw a Super Walmart when we were driving in, which was in the city of Burley. (about 30 minutes away.) I had to go and peak at the gifts...they were all from ACE Hardware!
I giggled to myself, I am sure that they were very practical gifts!
Another reason why we headed up North was to see Grandma and Grandpa Casper!

Yes, the grandma that gave us quite a scare this past Fall.
(She was near death and I had to rush home to say my good-byes, but she is a fighter and pulled through!)
It was good for us all to be able to spend time with the two of them. They are traveling through Idaho and maybe Utah; we will have to see how Grandma's health is.
It was important for me to get pictures with them; you never know what tomorrow may bring.

The kiddos loved talking Grandma's ear off. I am sure Grandma was just tired watching the twins, but at least she was smiling.

It was fun to get away for a weekend and spend time with Family and Friends.
I wish Brooke and Jess a life together, full of love and happiness.
Marriage is a great thing!
Life is not easy, so having the support and love from your best friends and partner, makes whatever life throws at you a bit easier.

Just the 3 of us

Today was the last day of sunshine for a couple of days, so I thought I would take advantage of the Sun and took C&C to the petting zoo.

We had a good time just the three of us. It kinda gave me insight of what it going to be like next year when Kenzie and Lanie are in school all day.
It also gave me insight on just how big C&C are getting. My babies aren't babies anymore, not really even toddlers either. They are kids and good kids they are.
I got insight that I am lucky to have both of them, even though they keep me on my toes.
We had fun today at Thanksgiving Point and then off to Sonic for lunch, their choice.
Thanks you two for sharing a fun afternoon together! We were all tired after that, so we went home and took a nap; just the 3 of us!
***I do have to tell a funny story: We went to target after Sonic and we have learned by experience that we must use the potty first thing before even getting a cart. Well, Carson needed some extra "help," so I went into the stall with him. I was standing there, and then he says to me, "Mom, turn around. I can't do my business with you looking at me." I giggle to myself as I am looking at the stall door and then he is ready to be wiped, and it's "OK" for me to look then. I did have to ask him if it was OK. I love my boy and I guess he is just as modest as his sisters.***

I went on a Date...

...With someone besides Dan...
Miss Lanie Lou!
She invited me to her Kindergarten Doughnut Date! I wouldn't have missed it.
We played outside, snuggled up with a good book, and ate a doughnut.
It was Perfect!
It is moments like this that I am grateful Dan works so that I can go do this kind of things and he "misses" out.
Being a mom is a great thing!
Thanks Delanie for the FUN and Special Doughnut Date!

Dan sends out a special message:

Remember to LOVE the Earth everyday, but even more so TODAY!
Today is one of Dan's "Favorite" days, so he wants everyone to help celebrate by turning off a light and hug a tree!

Alittle Dirt doesn't Hurt...

Really???

What is it with kids and dirt??
If there is dirt to be found, they will find it,
(even if it is at the neighbors' house in their front yard.)
Notice the kid's faces, I think that they were having so much fun, that they even ate the dirt and it didn't faze them.
Bring on the dirt!!
Let's get DIRTY!!
I have to say the tub had NO match up against the dirt the kids brought in from outside on their tiny bodies.
The ring around the tub must be a sign that Spring has finally come!

a new look:

for Miss Delaine.
Here she is with L-O-N-G hair; ready for a cut.
As cute as a 6 year old can be...

...Sitting so anxiously to see what her new cut is going to look like...
(Notice the smile on her face, you can tell that she is excited)
...And here is the unavailing...

Sassy, Darling, and 6 going on 13!
Delanie LOVES it and so do I.
What a difference it has made. Her curls came back and it looks healthy with bounce again.
Watch out Dan, boys will be knocking on our door, wanting Miss Delanie. I am predicting it now. We will have our hands full with this girl.
A new hair cut and a cute style makes any girl smile and happy again.
I look at it as way cheaper then therapy!

Maybe...Just Maybe...

...Spring is here to STAY!
With the weather finally starting to be nice, we headed over to the gardens at Thanksgiving Point to enjoy the sun and spring flowers; and of course, I was going to take the camera with us.
So here we are...a Happy Family...
BUT taking pictures doesn't always turn out just like this one...
...Here is another of our "Picture Perfect" family as well.
Full of spunk and craziness!
Our motto is..."Never a dull moment." How true that is!

Here are the Kiddos: I am truly lucky and blessed to have such good-looking kids, but I am the mom and I have a tendencies to be bias.
I love Spring, Everything about it!
The warmer weather, the colors of the flowers, not having to wear jackets, seeing the sun daily, playing outside, the smell of cut grass, and the longer days.
Here are the kids as well as Nana and Pappy.
Thanksgiving Point's Gardens is one of Nana's favorite places to visit when she is here. She said that if she ever had a bad day, going to the gardens and seeing all the beauty would make all things better, next to spending the day with her grandkids of course!
Seeing the green grass and flowers ready to pop with color only get me excited for Spring to be here, and it is about time. Snow in April is common, but not this late in the year.
So Bring on the Sunshine and Warm Weather and it is not a minute to soon! We are ready to enjoy everything Spring has to offer, well maybe not allergies, but everything else!

Who says I need crayons to create a masterpiece?

When it comes to sugar cookies, give the kids some frosting and sprinkles and away they go, making the yummiest (and may I add the prettiest looking as well) cookies.
It doesn't take long for them to have editable masterpieces ready to show the camera and then into their tummies the cookies go.
What a fun way to celebrate Easter and here's to hoping that Spring will be here soon, and if not, at least we have a bit of color and sprinkles to enjoy our warm home while it is still chili outside.

Easter is Here...

That must mean...
...the Easter Bunny has come and left eggs to find and treats to see.

The kids were so excited to see the all of there goodness and look for the hidden Easter eggs.
It didn't take long for them to find the eggs and find out that not only did the eggs have candy in them, they also found some that had money.
Pappy and Nana must have been good as well, for the Easter Bunny brought them an Easter basket as well. How did that rabbit know that Nana and Pappy were here visiting???
That is one smart bunny. It was a fun morning and now I get to look forward to having the kiddos high on sugar and candy. Maybe the Easter Bunny isn't too smart after all.
Nothing is better then finding candy wrappers on the floor and in cushions in the couch...NOT!
Hey, it's a good thing that Easter comes once a year. I have to admit, I know where the kids get there addiction for the Easter candy...this wonder women's weakness is Easter candy, mostly those dang mini hard shell chocolate eggs.

I also need to say that I didn't forget the real reason for Easter...That Christ has risen and that He lives today. I am grateful to know this and be able to teach this to my children.
Christ is the real reason for Easter!

I hope that you all had a fun and meaningful Easter as we surly did.

an EGG-citing night:

With Easter being in the morning, (and with Nana and Pappy being here) we thought that we better get busy decorate Easter eggs...

...the kids had fun dyeing eggs and putting funny faces on them.
Nothing smells better in your home then stinky warm eggs, but that didn't stop the kiddos.
With 24 eggs first starting out white and boring, it sure didn't take long for the kids to pick their "favorite" color and bring color to the eggs. Surprisingly, there were not even any messes. Feef and Kory even came and spent the evening with us, so we were ALL TOGETHER. That makes holidays that much more fun.

So, with the eggs finished, in the refregde they go. The Easter Bunny doesn't hide real eggs, they stink already and heaven forbid if the kids forget to find one, can you imagine the smell???
So, plastic eggs are hidden and LOTS of egg salad sandwiches are made (and eaten)
Off to bed we go, for the Easter Bunny will be hopping on by real soon...

(Earlier in the day, all the cousins got together at Opa's and Oma's home and had our annual Easter Egg Hunt. I can't believe how everyone is growing up and not everyone is pictured...there is a total of 29 grandkids. Aren't Opa and Oma LUCKY??!!?)

36 weeks and Growing...

...only 4 weeks left intil Feef has her baby girl,
SO, I thought it would be a great excuess for throwing a party!
With good food, fun gifts, and lots of super family/friends, it was a fun evening for us ladies.
Feef recived lots of fun gifts, so she is ready for the baby to come.
Clothes, Blanket, Toys, and Supplies have been stocked up, so "Baby Girl" can come at anytime.
Last Monday, at her doctor appointment, Feef was 50% efaced and 1.5 diolated. She goes in this upcoming Tuesday, here's hoping for some progress. Gotta love those weekly visit, but at least Feef is almost done and "Baby" will be here.
Keep you all posted...

What kind of fantasy land do we live in??

Well, according to Cassidee we live in a magical place.
See, where we live, we have the following:
Reindeer Horse-es
(Even though they say moooo)
(2) Unicorns
(a horse is black or brown, but these are white, therefore...Unicorns. Cassie has also informed me that these unicorns can make rainbows and have wings to let them fly.)

...and today she even noticed something else magical:
a Tree that has Magic Eggs on it!
("Mom, how did that tree grow that way? We just have a boring green tree in our yard")
So in Cassie's eyes, we live in a pretty special place, now I can't tell you where exactly, some of our secret must remain quite, but just know that we really do live in a magical fantasy land and that a 3 year olds mind never stops dreaming up wonderful fantasies.

A Prediction:

The Chicago Cubs are going to take it all this year
...so Dan thinks and therefor he wanted me to make this prediction noted for all to see.

Dan threaten to give me Chinese Water Torture if I didn't post this in a blog for all to see and witness; that is how excited he is for his team to take it all this year.
IF the Cubs can do it, Dan has informed me that it would end an 101 year losing strike and this is the year for Cubs to do it!
With the MLB opening day this past Sunday, you know what was on at our house... (besides conference of course) Baseball all night!

Well, the Chicago Cubs played their opening game last night and Dan is proud to add that they won their first game. Dan was excited hence the prediction.
Chicago Cubs beat Houston Astros 4-2 in season opener-Chicago Tribune

So, here is to a season full of Baseball games on our tv and I am sure Dan will make/threathen me again to keep you all posted on the progress of his team.

I love these kind of weekends

I look forward to these kinds of weekend twice a year:
*Church on TV were I can watch it in my cozies
*Listening to the Prophet and his counsels
* Baking bread
* Finishing projects
(we finally got the crown molding completely done after sometime)
*Not having to plan a lesson for my primary class*Working on Crafts
* Having no schedule
* Sending the kids to play outside
*Spending all day in my cozies again
*Having Dan's help for an entire two days
* Sneaking in a nap by myself
Now you see why I LOVE these kinds of weekends...too bad they just come twice a year. The next one is not till October. Good thing I really took advantage of this one.

Young Love:

Earlier Today:

Ding Dong goes the door bell.

Dan answers it and to his surprised there are two neighbor boys standing there looking right at him, wanting to know if Mackenzie is home.

I call for Mackenzie and let her know that Jackson and Brayden are at the door.

Mackenzie smiles at me and runs down the stairs.

The boys are there waiting for her with smiles on their faces and in a "teasing lovey" way says to Mackenzie,

"I know something...Someone likes Y*O*U."

(Oh, young love is in the air. You bet that I'm listening to how things go from the landing on the stairs with a smile on my face.)
Then without any hesitation...the boys throw these words at her.
They start to laugh, Mackenzie was kinda laughing, but also you could tell that she was discussed with the whole thing. She then goes back upstairs when Dan asked the boys if they wanted to come in for a bit. (I am sure she was thinking...BOYS??!?)
I think the part that really bugged Mackenzie was that Delanie thought it was the funniest thing ever and was almost rolling on the floor, laughing so hard. Dan and I were both giggling. (to ourselves)
The boys got Mackenzie good and I am sure this won't be the last time we hear the door bell ring and find that there are boys there wanting Mackenzie to be home. I am sure she will smile just like today and I am 100% sure, that there will be hearts broken as well.
Today was just a glimpse of YOUNG LOVE!
