Throwback Thursday:

Donny and Marie say it best...
I'm a little bit Country
AND
A little bit Rock N' Roll.
From way back when, I have enjoyed the great outdoors and country life. I always tell the kids, "You know that we are getting close to home, by how strong the skunk smell is getting."
BUT...
...Don't get me wrong, I have to also have my bling and malls, hence my little bit rock n' roll side as well; a diva you could say.
I love my friends and always looking for an excuse for a night on the town.
I love music and reality shows. That is my kind of entertainment.
I am a night sitting under the stars, singing by the campfire, eating a s'more or two, BUT when it is time to fall asleep...
a real bed, with sheets, in a hotel, with a thermostat is a must.
See, I told ya, I'm a little bit country AND a little bit rock n' roll.

Crazier things have happened...

...Like seeing a pig with wings flying in the clouds; Yeah, that's pretty crazy,

...BUT this is also a CRAZY thing...
Little Miss Cassie Mae is sleeping soundly.
Not even the camera flash woke her up when I took this picture.
See, this little girl thinks that she doesn't need sleep.
She is usually the first one awake (up by 7 for sure, sometimes up as early as 5 AM) and the last kid to fall asleep at night (10 or 11 if we let her).
Well, this morning she was the last one to get up and when she finally did wake up, it was almost 9 AM.
I know, Crazier things have happened, but at our house, this one is for sure up there in the ranks of being pretty crazy.

all good things must come to an end...

...even if you have a hit show with a really funny man...

...even if the show was only on for 7 months...
...and the network you worked for signed a contract...

...and the host before you, retired; giving you the show...

...including the time slot and viewers...

...realizing, the host before aka "Not Funny" man got jealous and wanted to play "Indian giver"...

...hence people's feelings hurt, words said, fans upset, rallies in Cali...

...and a good thing be forced to end.

Throwback Thursday:

In honor of turning 30,
I thought it might be fun to go back into time to my very 1st birthday.

Traveling back to 1981....
WOW! Pictures are fun to go back and see just how things change;
Check out the television, the carpet, the couch, and even more so, my mom's hair.
...But I guess somethings never change either;
I still like cake, birthdays, and getting presents.
Here's to my 30's and and finding joy and fun in the upcoming years.
I say Bring It!

The BIG THREEEE-ZEROOOOO

Today is MY day!!!
I am someone who enjoys others birthdays, but when it comes to MY very own birthday, I LOVE everything about it. I guess I will never be too old to celebrate.
Well, my morning started off by looking in the mirror and finding a face full of zits and a wonderful monthly visitor; Mother Nature, herself wanted to even give me a gift.
I get a Birthday text from T-mobile, not sending me well wishes, but to let me know that my phone bill is due.
Oh, yeah, I got to spend 2 hours waiting at the DMV to renew my driver licence and had the most flattering picture taken ever...NOT! Okay, I understand that even though I am turning 30 today, the world doesn't stop spinning and life still has to go on, but that would be a nice feature, at least on my birthday.
Oh well, it can't, but with the help from Dan and the kids, they did make me feel special and made turning 30 not a bad thing at all.
Dan was able to take the day off of work and after our morning chores around town were done and with all that waiting at the DMV, we thought a birthday lunch would be great, so off we went to Goodwood.
One of my favorite things about birthdays is opening presents: I really enjoy opening my presents and my friends must know that.
It was either my cell phone, texts, emails, home phone, or the front door, my friends didn't let me forget that it was my birthday. It must be the year for treats. (Maybe that is why it was so easy to ease into turning 30.) I got the cutest mini cupcake maker as well as a giant cupcake mold.
One thing I didn't get was my "David," BUT Liza did get me a Playboy purse and a hands free standing hair dyer holder. Since no "David" those things were the next best thing. ;)

Later when the girls got home from school, that is when the real party started.
Dan was able to sweet talk the baker at Kneaders for them to make this chocolate peppermint cake that is suppose to be only seasonal, but they would make it just for me, because it is one of my favorites. (If anyone knows Dan, one thing that he is good at is butt kissing, but hey, if it benefits me, there is nothing wrong with that. Flattery gets you everywhere) ...And gifts, the kids went shopping one night with Dan and helped pick out presents. My boyfriend on blue ray was Cassie's pick (The Proposal) and Carson helped pick out a Columbia Coat. Kenzie gave me 30 kisses (Hershey kisses to be exact) and a cute Juicy charm for my necklace. Lanie colored me a picture and gave me a pair of sparkly hoop earrings.

Birthdays come and go, as well as trends ands styles. The thing that matters most to me on my birthday is that I was able to spend it with the ones that I love the most. And one thing is for sure, I know that they love me too, it is so obvious by how spacial they made me feel.
To be honest, I am kinda excited to start my adventure in my 30's.
Hey, it's better then the alternative...being 6 feet under.
Happy Birthday to ME and here's to many many more.

For ME??!?!?

A girl's night out in honor of me??!!?
Is it because I am turning 30 or that I have the best BFF a girl could have...
Or maybe I am just Lucky and it is both. Tonight on the agenda: Girls having fun out on the town and celebrate with a little bit of pampering and some laughs and good food.
So after a "quick" pedicure with Christina, Liza, and Myself, we headed over to the Cheesecake Factory to meet up with Andrea and Mindy.

It was a fun evening with the girls; we laughed, talked, and just had fun, and I can't forget to mention, ate yummy desserts.
I can tell that this is going to be a full week of birthday celebrations; there is no complaining for me either.
There is no one else I would want to spend the start of birthday week with.
Thanks ladies! You are the Best and I love ya all!

Throwback Thursday.

It's good to have family!

I was lucky enough to always have cousins always around me.

Grandma and Grandpa's place was right in the middle, so all of my aunt/uncles, and cousins

were within 30 minutes away, making it easy to support and see each other.

We were a close family; whether it was some one's birthday, sporting event, holidays, or just a Sunday afternoon, we got together and spent time with one another.

Enjoy with me a trip down memory lane...

With there being 12 cousins (all girls except for 4 boys), we always had fun with each other.

There was always good laughs when we got together.

It might have been the burping contest, or decorating Easter eggs, playing on Grandma's organ, picking raspberries in Grandpa's garden, riding horses, or jumping on the tramp.
I can remember the many sleep overs at each others houses and the many memories we can look back on and laugh about,

Aunt Tammy popping my zit on my nose and it made me throw-up, every 4th of July I would scream and I mean scream and cry because I didn't like the fireworks and Emily, Carrie, and Jenna would laugh at me, or the time Tiff got gum stuck up her nose.

How we always knew where Grandma hid the gummy worms and we played in her make-up. What about Tiffany biting the feet off of every one's newest Barbie, or when the girls would arm wrestle, or when Jenna chased us around with slugs in her hands.
I can't forget the many Summers spent camping at Blue Lake.

We all have grown up and have lives for ourselves.

This is one of the last pictures where were are all together, sadly it has been 10 years.

Life has thrown us in all different directions... college, missions, work, marriage, parents, careers, and even different states.

I want them to all know that I miss them and love them all so much. We really did have some fun times together.

I know just how important family is.

Currently, there are 29 cousins (on Dan's side) and 1 (on my side) for my kids to play with and I can only hope that they will one day be able to say the same things about their cousins.

I Love you all!

Raw Raw Raw...Goooooo Team!

Date night at The Flash game...

For Christmas, I had this great idea to get Dan tickets to The Flash (NBA's D leagued)...well, with help from the Treus (pretty much all the help from them) I was able to give Dan front row seats; that means no one setting in front of us and our feet were on the game court, PLUS Christina and Brian were able to come with us. (It helps when they are season ticket holders...Must be nice to be a "Treu." {Smiley Face} )
Dinner was on us at one of our favorite place...PF Changs, but before that we witnessed a NASTY car crash, but the guys were too hungry to stay and give a statement. Dan and Brian DID get out of the car to see if everyone was OK, pushed the other wreaked cars out of the way, and with that being said, off to dinner we went. Nothing was going to make us miss the game.
The game was fun and also entertaining. We were up close that we could hear the players mock each other and try to get them rallied up.
To make the evening more fun, The flash took the win in their home court and we were able to have a date night with some really good people, so good, I am lucky and privileged to call them my friends.
Thanks Treus for the fun evening!

Throwback Thursday:

What is "Throwback Thursday?" you ask...
Since we are celebrating a New Year, we are also welcoming a new decade, so I thought it would be fun to go through some picture archives from the last 30 years.
Well, I am pleased (and maybe even a little more shocked to be honest ) to tell you that I am going to try and share old pictures from my past, kinda like you are able to go back in time.
Enjoy Throwback Thursday,
and maybe, just maybe, you might just be lucky enough to be featured in one of the upcoming post...
Every little girl has pictures of themselves in their dance recital costumes, so why would I be any different?
You better believe that I thought I was a real dancer and even more so, I thought I was looking good. Now, that is a sailor outfit!

I didn't do dance forever; maybe my parents got tired of sitting through the hours of dance recital. NO, never bored of me, it was the other kids. ;) Instead my mom put us in gymnastic, swimming, piano, self defence, and choir, all things I didn't want to do, but looking back, I wish that I would have stuck to at least one of them.
Oh well, now I know...and you better believe that I have put my own girls into different classes; dance, riding lessons, guitar, swimming, sports, and gymnastics.
Must be a "MOM" thing.

5...4...3...2...1...

Happy New Year!!!
It's midnight...so that can only mean one thing...
It's 2010!!!
With each new year, it brings in new resolutions to make and try to keep throughout the upcoming year.
We deiced to make "goal hats" to past the time up until the new year and help the kids try and stay up to welcome in the new year.
***(Note: Everyone, including ALL of the girls staied up till midnight, bless Carson, he made it till alittle after 11pm. I am not sure what the girls were running on, but they didn't want to miss out on any of the fun.)***

We all got a over sized party hat and the only rule: cut out pictures from magazines of what you want 2010 to bring YOU, glue pictures onto hat, and wear the hat when midnight hits.

It was fun to see what everyone wants to accomplish this upcoming year.
As for me, maybe if I publicly post my goals, maybe I will be more accountable for working and keeping my goals (I doubt it, but it's worth a shot...right??)
*What I, Christy Springer, want out of 2010*
-Better my time, use it more wisely (wake up before 9 am, shoot already broke that one)
-Save a dollar or two
-Be a happier mom
-Peace (if not in the world, then in our home)
-A trip or a get-away without kiddos
-Be 30 and love it
-Become healthier (then what I am now)
-Have Fun and enjoy every moment
I think 2010 is going to be a good year, maybe even a GREAT year, with a lot of things to offer me and many things for me to experience.
Bring on 2010!
