Earlier Today:
Ding Dong goes the door bell.
Dan answers it and to his surprised there are two neighbor boys standing there looking right at him, wanting to know if Mackenzie is home.
I call for Mackenzie and let her know that Jackson and Brayden are at the door.
Mackenzie smiles at me and runs down the stairs.
The boys are there waiting for her with smiles on their faces and in a "teasing lovey" way says to Mackenzie,
"I know something...Someone likes Y*O*U."

(Oh, young love is in the air. You bet that I'm listening to how things go from the landing on the stairs with a smile on my face.)
Then without any hesitation...the boys throw these words at her.
They start to laugh, Mackenzie was kinda laughing, but also you could tell that she was discussed with the whole thing. She then goes back upstairs when Dan asked the boys if they wanted to come in for a bit. (I am sure she was thinking...BOYS??!?)I think the part that really bugged Mackenzie was that Delanie thought it was the funniest thing ever and was almost rolling on the floor, laughing so hard. Dan and I were both giggling. (to ourselves)
The boys got Mackenzie good and I am sure this won't be the last time we hear the door bell ring and find that there are boys there wanting Mackenzie to be home. I am sure she will smile just like today and I am 100% sure, that there will be hearts broken as well.

Today was just a glimpse of YOUNG LOVE!

After reading this I laughed a little, and I am a little embarassed. I hope her feelings weren't hurt too bad. You tell her that boys at that age do those things to girls they really like and think are really cute. They were at my house right before, and I overheard them say, "let's go play basketball, maybe Mackenzie will be outside playing". They said it like they had a secret crush!
Boys are so cruel sometimes. It is so true about boys. . . .they tease, harrass, and are sometimes down right mean to the girls they like. I myself had boys do that to me, but it was in high school. Only later when we were graduating to find out this guy liked me, but he sure had a weird way of showing it. Mackenzie just better get used to how boys are. . . .they don't get any better as they grow up.
Oh, the memories that you've brought back for me. What a ride we are in for with our girls! Abby's already had a few boyfriends in her class (though she won't admit it to me, but she sure talks about them a lot). Yeah, this is going to be fun:)
