Birthday Weekend #1

Dan planned a fun birthday get-a-way for me this past weekend with my mom up in Oregon for an entire WEEKEND of scrap booking.

Thursday: Watched the news to see that a commercial jet has landed in the Hudson River off of New York City: What a miracle that was that NO ONE on the plane died.

The pilot is a real HERO!

Great I have to fly the same day after just watching this plane wreak on tv all afternoon...

*Off to airport to head to Oregon. I am ready for a break from being "mom" and spend the weekend with parents.

*My plane was late, so I sit and wait and wait and wait. Aren't airport so much fun??

Also, I NEED to Thank Dan for being "Super" DAD for taking on all responsibilities with the kids and doing it all by yourself. YOU ARE GREAT! Bring on the FUN!

Friday: I got to sleep in!!!

*My dad brought me a hot chocolate and "Dunkin' Doughnuts" (the owners of the store call the doughnuts something different so they don't have to pay royalties, but they are the exact doughnut.)

*My mom and I meet up with my Aunt Tammy and we spend the morning shopping and getting her daughter's wedding planned. It was fun to hung with her.

*Meet my Dad for lunch at Paddington's Pizza ( Only the BEST pizza out there...I am a whippersnapper girl.)

*Into Mom's office to say hi to my cousin and while I was there I had a motivation moment:

Look at this sweater: I thought I worked it...

...BUT someone at my mom's work thought differently...

I walked in and started talking to some of my mom's girlfriends when this "Lady" (we will call her that to save my mom's job :) comes to me and starts small talk.

She then says, " I hear that you are expecting..." I then say, "My birthday??" Instead of just saying "Oh that is totally what I was thinking...she opens her mouth and inserts her foot and keeps going and don't stop.

"Oh, I thought you were expecting a baby!" My Gosh Lady! Stop when you are ahead, but NO she keeps on asking questions and letting me know that I could have another and she would have for sure thought it was me.

I have to admit, that I handled it well for what was taking place, but like I said it was a MOTIVATION MOMENT! I don't want ANYONE to think that I am prego when I am NOT, So I am here to tell you publicly, I am going to start weight watchers and will be tracking my progress openly on this blog on a weekly basis.

*Home to take a little NAP, yes I said NAP. It feels good to be able to do what I want when I want with out any crying, fighting, or arguing.

* 6:00 rolls around and off my mom and I go to crop to our hearts intent!

Saturday: Still cropping at the Shio Inn till 12:30...we need some sleep!

*Home to sleep till 8 and then off to crop some more!

*Non-stop till 12:30 again! Almost 15 hours of scrap booking in ONE day! I loved it!

*While we were there I meet some fun girls! With them, we had some good laughs!

I want to give a shout out to Michelle and Heidi! You girls are awesome!

***Also, something else kinda funny...I was scrapping at my table, when I lady comes up to me and introduces herself and lets me know that she knows all about me...she came across my blog and now reads it often. Small world...who would have ever thought I would meet one of my readers. I felt a bit famous and was in shock that people actually read our family blog.

So here is a shout out to Charmayne!

SUNDAY: we cropped till 4 in the afternoon...so I was able to get 30 2-page layouts done! I was so pleased with what I got done. Many of you are thinking "WHY" I can hear you already, but I love everything about scrap booking. It is how I relax and when I get pages done, my kids love to look at them. So everyone is rewarded and no one goes without.

*After the crop, Mom and I have Dad bring Chinese home for dinner and wee spend the evening doing NOTHING!

* Dad and I did play Rummy with a deck of cards of the title of the UNIVERSE, which I still hold the title of!!! I am the champion!

* Talk to Dan and hear all the naughty things the kids are doing: the fighting, making messes, Cassie dumps a entire gallon of chocolate milk on the kitchen floor, ect. Dan is ready for me to come home.

*Off to bed with not fights and arguing from anyone. No one to steel the covers, no one to hog the bed, just me and only me. (Don't get me wrong, I would never want to not have Dan or the kids, but it is nice to have a break every once in awhile)

MONDAY: Early morning and off to hang at mom's office for a bit till she was able to take me to the airport.

*Broad the plane + 2 hour fight = HOME in UTAH!

It is good to see the mountains as we were getting ready to land.

* I am excited to see my kids and Dan and I know that DAN is EXCITED to have me home.

Not moments of being home, the kids are fighting on who can pull my suitcase and I am ready to jump right back on the plane.
HOME SWEET HOME!
Something never change and you just have to learn to love them or else you will be going crazy!

***All in all I had a fabulous weekend!***

Thanks to my parents for letting me get away from reality for a bit. It was perfect and was a great birthday treat!

Thanks to the lady opened her mouth and who gave me my motivational moment. Sometimes the truth hurts and we don't like to hear it, but really do

Thanks to all the ladies in the cropping room for allowing me to wear my hair in a pony ALL weekend and letting me wear my cozies.

Thanks to my kids who gave up there mom for a whole weekend so she could play. I really needed it and love it all.

BUT most importantly...

Thanks to Dan for the love and support you give me and allowing me to do the things that I enjoy. You are truly the best and I am lucky to have you. Also, thanks for trying to show interest and looking at all the pages that I have done. I know that it is your favorite thing.
I know that I am one LUCKY girl who is now ready to be MOM again!

Hey! Thanks for the shout out, it was fun to meet you in person. Funny how small the world is and especially when you are LDS. :)
Happy Birthday and I hope you have a fabulous weekend in Vegas.
