a vacation to call our own

Sometimes you need a vacation after the vacation
Don't get me wrong, I love Dan's family, but when you have that many people with that little of space, you are due for a little family drama...
This is how we woke up from Friday night (4th of July) to Saturday. First I need to mention, Newport was CRAZY on Friday! All kinds of people everywhere...police everywhere! It was like a crazy place during spring break. I heard that you can get a DUI even on your bike?!?! It was a experience I won't forget...
Anyways, with all the people also can the drunk parties!
So Saturday morning we woke up to the power going out then out our window we saw a huge fire ball...I thought we were getting bombed.
To make a long crazy hectic morning short, the transformer blow up due to crazy people using fireworks causing the house next to us have a electrical fire!
The Firefighter yelled at Dan when he tried to go outside and take a picture for proof, but due to the live down power lines, Dan was TOLD to get back in!!!
...So with all things packed in the car, we are ready to hit the road!
Here is what we had to spend on gas when we stopped in Baker! I can't believe the prices of gas!
So with 6 hours in the car, we were ready to stop for the night in St. George; Nothing a dip in the pool couldn't help. We were able to get the kids asleep at 8:00 pm and they didn't wake till 8:30 am Sunday. Do you think that they were tired?? (Cassie didn't nap the entire 6 hours, we were honored with her "singing." I am still not sure what she was running on)

BREAKFAST:anything besides a doughnut!

So after we got the kids up and ready, out the door we went to Denny's for breakfast (the ox was in the meier) Question: Why does food ALWAYS look better on TV or in their ads? This is what my breakfast said it would look like...
...this is what it came out like. I don't see it.
ON the ROAD STILL!!!
This is the longest 4 hours...are we home yet???
No more pee stops! Leave each other alone! Next year we are flying! Stop talking!
Next stop **** willow patch ****
HOME SWEET HOME!!!
We made it home!!!
Next step...a weeks worth of laundry for a family of 6!
Welcome HOME!
