It's 10:00 on Sunday Morning...
...Dan is cooking breakfast...
...the kids are still in their jammies...
...the twins actually are sitting at the table to eat...
...it must only mean one thing...
...it is CONFERENCE Weekend!Twice a year; in April and now in October, our church has serves on TV for entire weekend.
I love everything about it!
It is a time where we can stay in our cozies all day, not fighting kids on what to wear, to do hair, and find matching shoes to be out the door by 10:45 to be sitting down quietly at church at 11:00.
It is also a time where we can try to gather as a family and listen to the words of all the speakers, teaching us and giving us guidance through this life's journey.
Prophet Thomas S. Monson, he truly is a man called of God and has a personal testimony of our Heavenly Father. I know that he knows our Heavenly Father and has a close connection with Him. You can see it when he talks to us over the pulpit. The love that he has for us; the people of the church is strong. The emotions are strong and you can feel his spirit through the TV.
I have noticed that during this conference, Prophet Monson, has looked like he has aged since becoming the Prophet in January when Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley passed away. I am sure the stresses, travel, the love, faith, the knowledge, and the constant oversight over the entire Church; it probable does take a toll on your age and health. I know the stress and importance it is to make sure that my family is cared for and teach them the gospel and make sure they know right from wrong, let alone the entire church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Prophet Monson is a great man and I know that he is the prophet for the people.
My Testimony is simple, yet strong and true.
I know that this church that I belong to is the true church. I know that our Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayer. He is awear of us. I know that the power of prayer is an amazing thing. Pray Often. I am grateful for the knowledge of the atonement and that I can be with my family forever, even after we die here on earth. I love my family so much. They are why I am here on this earth; teaching me and they all bring so much happiness to me. I know that I am truly blessed, even during the trails that we may face. We are giving trails, not to make us fail, but to learn and grow from each experience. I know that Heavenly Father wants the best for us and wants us to be happy. I know that with every choice there are consequences that we must face and learn from. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus love me.
These things I leave with you in the name of Jesus Christ,
Amen.
