A Day with the Durhams

Today we were able to have Annalyse and Kylee come over and play while their dad had to go back to work and their mom is still out of the state dealing with the courts to bring their baby brother Issac home for good.
So to get their minds off of things, what kid wouldn't enjoy an afternoon at Kangaroo Zoo.
Off we went and spent 2 hours jumping and bouncing on these giant blowups. Giggles and laughs were heard. They all had fun climbing and sliding down the 30 foot slide. Even the twins would climb up all the way to the top by themselves. They wanted to keep up with the older girls.
After Kangaroo Zoo, off to a cheap way to feed 6 kids...Pizza! I must have been a sight for sore eyes, because the stares that I got being out numbered (6 to 1) were pretty funny. In fact, this cute older couple had the guts to ask me if ALL of these kids were mine?!??! Embarrassed by the question and taken me off guard, I said "no, just four are." Then surprisingly, they said that I had it EASY, they had 7 kids.

At home later this afternoon, you can't have cousins over and not do glitter toes, so Annalyse and Kylee got their first set of glitter toes. There is something about girls and their sparkly toes.

No Swimsuit needed!!!

Tonight after dinner, (Taco Bell at the request of the kids; another cheap meal to feed that many kids.) we were all outside playing and the next thing I knew is the kids are at the neighbors playing on their slip and slide. All the kids wanted in on the fun, so fully dressed, they all started to play. They loved it and I loved the fact that it is NOW starting to get more like Summer weather and it should, since it is now JUNE.

The kids were dripping wet when all was said and done, off to the tubs for a warm bath and then jammies on. My kids LOVE their cousins, in fact, at one time I heard Kenzie tell Annalyse that she was her Best Friend. The two of them are only 2 days apart, so they have always been pretty close. After the fun and exciting day we all had, none of the kids fought going to bed. They were All worn out and here's to sleeping in...right???

Have you been on a slip and slide lately? Ouch. Why do kids think it is so fun?
