...Do you remember these?!?
"Charm Bell" Necklaces!!!
I was out and about and went to this cutest little store called Posh Flippery (at gardener village for all you local people) and low and behold I found a blast from my past.
Oh the memories! I was instantly happy; well, beyond happy, I was gitty!
See, When I was little, my mom won't buy these necklaces for me. She thought that they were so ugly and tacky. So as an adult now, I was going to buy not only one, I had to buy five (three for friends and two for my girls.)
Heck, it was the best $6.00 (per necklace) that I have spent in a long time.
I took them home and my girls (and Eliza) were drawn to them and we had fun picking out the charms that are "more like us." It was a childhood moment that finally happened.
I know, silly, but that is what I am and it doesn't really take much to make me happy, but these do...maybe it the fun bright colors, maybe it's the bells, or maybe because I finally have one.

I sware that these are the same ones from back in the 80's; they have the baby bottles, whistles, toilets, boxing gloves, records, harmonica, ect. with the same color chain link plastic necklace.
Truly a "vintage" piece of history making a come back to now... First it was the leg warmers, then the leggings, now the necklaces, will spandex, the knot in the bottom corner of our shirts, and crimped hair come back too?
Let me know if you where one of the "lucky" ones who had one of these way back when.
NOTE: ok, so I went back to the store today (Thursday April 3) to buy more, because everyone has commented on the necklace out in public, so I wanted to have some on hand...well, a surprise I did get... She had raised them to $2.50 per charm from the .50 from before (and are most likely going to be raised again due to more origenal ones) because they are the ones from the 80's. No wonder they look so much a like. See, they are no longer making them, believe me, I have checked (at least for now...) Let me know if you have to have one before they are gone.

I totally forgot about these, but yes I did have one, with lots of charms. I have no idea what happened to it.
My favorite trend from the 80's is the two layer socks of different colors, do you remember that?

ok so are you sick of my comments yet?? Don't worry about sending me one...I don't want you to have to go through all that trouble...so I am going to just bid on one on Ebay!
Oh my gosh that is so funny...I totally remember those now that I see them. I have no idea what happened to the ones I had though! To cool! :)
AHHHHHHHH! That is fantastic! I had the lipstick and toilet charms...
I mean, come ON! Who wants to hang a TOILET around their neck? Apparently me. The little blue lid opened and everything... It went great with the garbage pail kids cards I collected!
I just got your message today...I am so sorry. I hope you found what you needed.
I never had one of those these. I'm not even sure I remember them. I don't think I am that much older than you???? Never the less....I am so glad you had one of your childhood dreams come true!!!
Right when I opened your blog and saw that picture pop up--I about died!!! Talk about a rush of memories. I swear I had many of those exact charms. Now I'm totally wondering what I did with my charm necklaces. I love that you bought 5 of them!!! That is so cool--thanks for the walk down memory lane!
I love these when I was a kid too. That is so sweet that you found them!
Guess what? My Mom just found my necklace with all the charms and brought it over to me. It was fun to look at all those charms again. I put a picture of it on my blog.
