No music while we drive, Ask each other questions and talk.

One of my very favorite things about our date nights. I love to hear about the things on her mind. Tonight it was a boy named Tyler that she misses now that school is out. WHAT??!?!?!

Delanie picks where we eat dinner:

Taco Bell; where she had 2 cheese rolls and a Pina Colada Freeze drink. Delanie loves Taco Bell, she was in heaven with every bit.

Delanie picks what SHE wants to do for the activity; $20.00 limit:

Bowling was in our future.

The two of us played 2 games and Lanie won the first game. Final Score was 101-88. Not my best, but it was fun to watch Lanie tease me on winning. Game number 2 was just as fun and I took the win on that one. Final Score was 98-111. Delanie told me that she felt bad that I didn't win the first one, so she LET me win this one. What a sweetheart, Little Miss Lanie can be.


At the bowling ally, we shared some laughs and the kids really like to have one-on-one time with us. Lanie thought it was special to not have to try and fight her brother and sisters for some attention from mom. It gives the kids an opportunity to open up and tell us what is on their mind with no pressure. They can just be themselves. It is fun to watch their little personalities open up as well.
Delanie picks where we go for dessert:
Smart Cookie; "because she is one", is what she tells me as we pull into the parking lot.

Look at the size of that dessert, no wonder she wanted to go there! 2 peanut butter cookies with cookie dough ice cream in between. YUMMY!

(I do have to say, with me watching my "points" and weight, I was very good tonight. I got one scoop of ice cream in a cup/not even a cone/ and I didn't even come close to eating it all. To be honest, it didn't really taste good. What is happening to my taste buds???)

Delanie and I had a good time together. I love her so much and being able to spend the evening with her, showed me just how special she is and even more so just how lucky I am to have her.

Date Nights are the BEST, Now off to find out a bit more who this "Tyler" kid is.
